Why us
I started my own business in 2016. I know what it's like to be good at the work and then realize that running a business requires an entirely different set of skills.
How much should I charge? When should I hire someone? How do I quote the job? What should I be tracking? What systems do I actually need? How do I stop carrying the entire business around in my head?
Over the years, I've had to answer those questions for my own businesses. For the past six years, I've also worked directly alongside another business owner developing and improving the systems behind an established electrical equipment company.
That experience taught me something important: starting a business and scaling a business are different problems — but both benefit from having someone experienced sitting on your side of the table.
Stringfellow Construction Group is for contractors and construction-related business owners who want practical help figuring out what comes next.
Whether you're a tradesman thinking about going out on your own, a one-man operation trying to become a company, or an established business that's outgrown the way you've always done things, we'll sit down, look at where you are, and work through what needs to happen next.
No generic business playbook. No motivational coaching. Just practical guidance from someone who's built businesses, worked inside them, and dealt with many of the same problems you're facing.
What this usually looks like
Everything routes through you.
Employees can't make a decision without approval, so the owner becomes the answer to every question and the ceiling on every day.
Sales grew. Profit didn't.
More revenue moving through loose pricing and no job costing just moves more money past you faster.
Scheduling is chaos.
Work gets assigned by whoever is loudest or nearest, and nobody can see what's committed until it's late.
You promoted someone into a title.
But you never defined what authority the role actually carries, so the job didn't come off your desk.
Everyone is working hard and the business still feels harder to operate than it should. That's a systems problem.
Services
The same four-step structure as the construction side, because the logic is the same: understand the problem before anyone spends money solving the wrong one.
Most engagements start and finish at Tier 01. The work gets bigger only when the problem genuinely requires it.

For when the business has outgrown the way you've been running it. Roles, processes, pricing, scheduling, accountability.

03
Something isn't working. We step into the operation, identify the constraint, and build a practical solution around how the company actually runs.
Owner overload / Margin loss / Staffing / Process breakdowns
04
There's a point where working harder stops producing growth. The company needs structure, and someone alongside ownership to build it.
Org structure / Management development / KPIs / Hiring / Owner transition
The premise
Stringfellow isn't here to tell contractors how businesses work from a textbook. It's here to solve real operational problems.
Sometimes that's a two-hour conversation. Sometimes it's rebuilding one process. Sometimes it's helping an owner restructure an entire operation for its next stage of growth.
The engagement gets bigger only when the problem requires it.
Not theory. Not a seventy-page report that sits on a desk. A working solution, built around how your company actually operates.
Deliverables
Every engagement produces something your team can actually use on Monday. The goal isn't more paperwork — it's a business that doesn't require the owner to personally hold everything together.
Fit
Saying so up front saves us both an afternoon.
